Good news, I am back to my pre-pregnancy weight!
I never thought that I could wear my pre-pregnancy clothes this soon. I gained more than 35 pounds during my pregnancy but when Geshery was born, she weighed less than 6 pounds. Where did the excess pounds go? Your guess is as good as mine is, wink!
I can attribute my weight loss to many factors. Breastfeeding and lack of sleep probably are the top reasons. There is also exercising (although my hubby will probably disagree with that for he thinks that I do not exercise enough) and dieting as well.
Since dieting is not a good idea when your baby is exclusively breastfeeding, let me clarify my point before some people argue with me on that last reason. With dieting, I meant healthy eating – more servings of fruits and vegetables, less sweets and calories, and junk foods only in very rare occasions.
Speaking of fewer calories, I encountered a product called miracle noodles during my search for healthy products. The manufacturer of this noodles claims that this product have zero calories. The main ingredient of this miracle noodles is konjac (specifically its root), a plant which contains almost no calories but is very high in natural fiber (called glucomannan). This widely grown plant in Korea, Taiwan, Japan, China and Southeast Asia is also a popular vegan substitute for gelatin.
The Miracle Noodle looks and feels like pasta but it does not taste like grain pasta or wheat noodles. Actually, it is insipid. However, if you are dieting, it is a good product to try because eating more glucomannan somehow tricks your brain into thinking that you are already full without eating many calories.
Did you also give birth before? How long did it take you to lose the excess weight that you gained during your pregnancy? Do you think that accomplishing that within 5 months is not a case of “too much too soon”?
