Today, our floor was littered with puzzle pieces. “Keep these puzzle pieces or I will throw them away!” I warned Georyl, my two year old daughter, when I passed her on my way to our room.
When I went back, I was pleasantly surprised when the area was clean already. I even praised Georyl for putting away her toys and allowed her to watch her favorite Mickey Mouse Clubhouse DVD as a reward.
Later on, I saw that the puzzle box was empty. I was beginning to wonder where she placed all those puzzle pieces when I observed that the carpet was not flat. I noticed some lump underneath and look what I discovered:
Uh-oh! My baby tricked me – and she’s barely three years old!
I guess having some toddlers at home can be a test of patience especially when they are already at the stage when they start writing on walls, get messy or litter the floor with toys and stuff. Georyl is at that stage now. She would remove the magazines and books in the book racks, showcase her art work in leather covers of our chairs, and spread all her toys on the floor and will refuse to put them back in the toy box. I’m just glad that we have wood laminated floors (instead of carpet) because at the rate it’s going, I might need to hire someone to do a wall to wall carpet cleaning nyc.
But, my oh my! What a test of patience it is!

I have used that line “Keep it or I’ll throw it” over and over… sometimes, it just doesn’t work. Maybe Georyl saw that trick in the animation Snow White and the 7 Dwarfs. Have a nice day!
