Today was quite a busy day because I decided to do some general house cleaning. Allow me to share with you some home cleaning tips that will help you clean your house faster and efficiently – these are what I’ve learned from experience and from what I can still remember from our Home Economics lessons in school before:
1. Don’t wait for dust and dirt to pile up. It’s easier to maintain the cleanliness of your surroundings when you clean the house daily than to wait for a week or two before you start sweeping the floor or do your home cleaning. If you let dirt and dust accumulate, it will take you more time to clean everything than what you’ll need to spend if you regularly maintain the orderliness and cleanliness of your surroundings.
2. Work High to Low. Start with the ceiling and work your way down to the floor when cleaning.
3. Clean just one area at a time. You can’t do everything at the same time. Focusing on one area or room first will help you finish your cleaning the whole house faster.
4. Be organized. Just place your cleaning supplies in a basket or cleaning bucket so that you won’t waste your time going back to retrieve them.
5. Use proper cleaning equipment and supplies. Use glass cleaner on glass, wood polish on wood, floor wax on the floor. You can use homemade and other chemical cleaning supplies but be sure to use them as recommended.
6. Clean smarter, not harder. Don’t waste time overcleaning something that’s already clean. For example, you don’t have to scrub hard, thoroughly disinfect and spend as much time cleaning a rarely used bathroom (such as in the guest room) than the bathrooms that you always use.
Remember: Every stuff should have it’s place and everything should be in it’s proper place (most or) at all times. When you remove your classrings, place them inside your jewelry box ASAP. Put dirty clothes in the laundry bin, return the book that you read in the bookshelf, and don’t leave your shoes by the foot of the chair just because that’s where you took them off. The better organized your things are, the lesser stuffs you need to clean.
