It’s a bird! It’s a plane! No, it’s Superman! Such a popular phrase, right?
Now, how about guessing what this is?
I was looking out of the window when I noticed this woman begging from passersby. I was on the third floor of the building and from where I was standing, it was hard to know what’s on this woman’s back but I was sure that it was not a bag. Out of curiousity, I used the videocam’s zoom feature to find out and what I saw agitated me.
It’s an infant!!!
If she could go chasing people and cars under the scorching heat of the sun, then this woman’s fit to work. Yet, here she is, using her baby as props while begging for money or food from passersby. It was about 1:00PM at that time and I just can’t imagine how a mother could afford to expose her baby to the heat of the sun in such an uncomfortable position!
I can’t help feeling sorry for the baby who looks like it’s between 1 to 3 months old. As I was looking at them, I was even wondering if it’s still alive because, mind you, this woman moves so fast because she tries to catch up with the people passing by – oblivious to the fact that she has a baby on her back!
Can you imagine that you are this woman?

It saddened me watching babies used by their parent to beg for money. kawawa talaga ang baby, nasa likod pa parang sinturon.
Gee says
yeah, kawawa talaga. i saw them again today but we were advised not to give them anything because this is a residential area and when they know where you live, babalik balikan ka nila.

Ahhh!!! This is sad. There are tons of women like her in my place. They were everywhere! Sometimes they can be so irritating because they are forcing people to give something to them and curse you if you have nothing to give.
The fact is I am a very sensitive person when it comes to beggars that it causes me to cry while walking past them. But this kind of people are annoying! They should be working instead of walking on those streets, growing their children that way.

oh gawd.. poor baby. 🙁

*sigh* Here in Manila, I see a lot of people like her who use their babies when they go out begging for money on the streets. I hate seeing them with their babies who are too freaking young to even be exposed to that much pollution and danger. I wish countries everywhere would have very strict laws about this. I mean, if the kid is at risk, by all means, take them away from the parents ’til they’re ready to really take care of their babies. *sigh* Poor baby 🙁

Parents who use their babies for alms are irresponsible! They are putting their lives in dangers by begging along the busy streets.
These poor children are better off in the DSWD compounds if the adults are abusing them.

We get that in London also especially on the underground where they also have kids in pushchairs it’s sad to see.

oh, how sad. i thought we could only see something like that here in the Philippines, dyan rin pala sis.
Chin chin says
I don’t think I can do that to my baby. Maybe the baby is not really hers???

It’s probably the only thing she knows but of course it doesn’t justify her action. She need to go look for a real job..
