It is for us.
Actually we consider the whole weekend as the family bonding time. It’s the time when we go to malls or just drive around the city for some sightseeing. Some days, we would just laze around at home, watch DVDs or cook some bb-q outside. Our weekly grocery shopping falls on a weekend too and we’ll usually try a new restaurant after doing our shopping.
It is important that a family has a bonding time to develop closeness among the members and to relax after a week of (hard)work. It doesn’t have to be a whole day activity as long as everyone is present. It need not be expensive as well – you can just stay at home and still enjoy yourselves.
I’ll be posting an article about some bonding activities that you can try. Hope you can check back soon.
Happy Sunday (bonding) everyone!

I would agree, families need together time that’s not stress filled. We all lead busy lives juggling busy schedules (over filled), but need down time. For us, dinner time…true sitting at the table and having conversation was our special family bonding time. Daughter is grown and gone with just hubby and I at home now; but even now…we like our quiet down time together.
I think families go over board with booking children into too many activities. They don’t have a chance to enjoy one before it’s off to the next. That also adds stress to the family, and decreases time they could spend together. People need to slow down, so life doesn’t pass them by.

thanks sandy for sharing your thoughts and raising some valid points as well. we all need to have some time to unwind. all work and no play is bad.
