When we were still stationed in Morocco, visiting Spain was easy. The nearest base from us at that time is located in Rota, Spain so we’d often tag along whenever hubby needs to do some official business there (yes, mixing business with pleasure). It only takes just over half an hour ferry ride across the Strait of Gibraltar from northernmost part of Morocco (Tangier, Morocco) to Algeciras, Spain – and the good part is that we can bring along our car in the ferry just like the good ol’ RORO in the Philippines.
Most of the places that we got a chance to visit in Spain are located in the southern part of the country. When we get a chance to visit the country again (probably on our next holiday?), I’d love to go to Barcelona and probably drive across the other European countries as well! According to some Spain travel articles, it’s much cheaper to just rent villas in Spain than paying for a hotel so we’re gonna consider renting some apartments to save some money. I wonder where I can find some information on Barcelona apartments for rent.
Here’s a picture of one of the rare times when hubby and I have our pictures taken together (because Georyl is still too young to take a picture whenever the three of us travels). We’re in Cadiz, Spain when this picture was taken and at our background in the famous Cadiz Cathedral.
