If there’s gonna be a survey for the three most popular symbols or icons of the United States, the three things that will probably in the top spot are Uncle Sam, the USA’s red, white and blue flag and the Statue of Liberty.
The World’s Most Popular Monument
Indeed, the Statue of Liberty, located on Liberty Island in New York Harbor, is considered as the most popular sculpture and monument in the whole world. It is of no wonder that this robed female figure who bears a torch on the right hand and a tablet evoking the law on the left hand is also one of the most replicated structures in the world.
Replica of the Statue of Liberty in Legoland
We got a chance to see a replica of the Statue of Liberty at the Legoland California’s Miniland during our visit there in August. I know you can use lego blocks in (re)creating various objects but copying landmarks such as this is such a big endeavor. It seems real from a afar too! Who would have thought that that stuff is made up of lego blocks?!
More trivia: Do you know that the Statue of Liberty is a gift to the United States from the people of France?

The Statue of Liberty made from lego is awesome. Lately, my kids have rediscovered the fun of playing with blocks like Lego (Lego is expensive). My only dismay is when I see some pieces scattered somewhere in the house.
