I haven’t shared any picture of me recently here on my blog so most of you probably don’t know that I now have long hair – upto my waistline, to be specific.
I admit that my recent pregnany helped me grow healthier and longer hair. According to studies, hormonal changes during pregnancy causes hair to grow faster and fall out less. I am just not sure how long the effect will last (they say once I stop breastfeeding) but this early, I am making sure that I take care of my long hair properly.
How do I take care of my long hair?
Well, I regularly condition my hair with conditioner and oil. I also don’t wash my hair daily so that I won’t strip them with their natural oils since I have read that natural oils are produced by hair to protect it and to keep it strong – not because it is dirty.
Aside from that, I also use a wide-tooth comb when my hair is wet. It is not advisable to use brush nor fine-tooth comb on wet hair because it becomes delicate when wet. When my hair is dry, I use a hair brush to help stimulate the scalp and spread natural oils evenly through the hair. Massaging the scalp with fingers helps too!
Unless I am pressed for time, I let my hair to dry naturally. No hot hair air from hair dryers, no hot water from the shower too.
