Two weeks ago, our family, together with my sister in law’s family, went camping at the Zion National Park. We camped out at the South Campground is near the south entrance of the park at Springdale, Utah.
Since that park of the park is a desert, it was so hot out there. The hottest part of the day exceeded 100 degrees Fahrenheit (just like here in Las Vegas but we didn’t have access air-conditioning nor electric fans there)! We managed to cool ourselves by bathing in the cool river of the Virgin River because we had no access to shower rooms. There was a time I thought about buying wholesale fragrances so I can use them throughout the camping. LOL, just joking.
Anyway, here’s our family picture taken before we started on our hiking at the Temple of Sinawava trail.
And here’s the picture of our camping tent that accommodated the 9 of us!
There’s a plan to camp out again at Flagstaff (Grand Canyon). I’m not sure it’s safe for me then because I’m already on my third trimester of pregnancy.
Let’s see…

It’s amazing that such a small camping tent can accommodate 9 people! 🙂
Did you guys assemble that yourselves?
Sheryl says

I ve always wanted to camp out and experience the wildlife in the desert since i am an environmental specialist/biologist and i love to encounter unique species of plants and animals. By the way congratulations to you and your husband for a wonderful blessing (baby)
Sheryl says
oh nice to hear that. i’m not really into these type of adventures but hubby likes it a lot so i kinda warmed up to the idea of traveling and enjoying the outdoors once in a while.
thanks for the greetings. regards!

Looks like a great outdoor adventure. I miss camping out which I was able to do when I was younger.
Sheryl says
you can still do it! “younger” is a relative term and besides, age is just a number. wink!
Teresa Martinez says
This is a nice adventure for you and your sister’s respective families. Having that one tent for all of you encouraged more interaction, right?
Sheryl says
during the day till the early evenings, we were either trekking, exploring the trails and views or swimming in the river. nothing much to do at night but to rest and play some card games. we just entered the tent when we really had to go to sleep already.
claire says
Wow, this is so fun and to think that your camping tent accommodate 9 people, well that is amazing.
Sheryl says
well we were basically sleeping like logs anyway because of the day’s activities so it didn’t really matter if we didn’t have lots of room to wiggle while we sleep. 🙂

I thought the title was Lion National Park and it was a bit scary to think that you are camping with a tent in the Park. lol
Sheryl says
LOL borris! we had deers near our camp and heard some coyotes at night but nothing wild as a lion in there. we encountered some snakes and squirrels though during our trek on the trails.
