Have you heard this quote?
“Always buy a good pair of shoes and a good bed as if you aren’t in one, you are in the other.”
The quote above is from Ms. Gloria Hunniford. It is the one that hubby used to convince me that we needed to buy a tempurpedic bed (and I use the same quotation everytime I talk him into buying me a pair of shoes, LOL!). Eversince he saw and tried one of those tempurpedic beds in the mall, he kept bugging me that we should buy it (since I am the “financial and budget officer” at home).
Anyway, to cut the long story short, we agreed to buy one tempurpedic (Tempur-Ergo Advanced) bed for the master’s bedroom and one Tempur-Cloud for Georyl’s bedroom. It was a bit expensive but since an average person spends a third of his or her life sleeping, then we might as well splurge on a good bed, right?
Here’s a pic of Georyl and George taken right after the delivery guys from Walker left the front door:
Looking back, I think that we made the right decision. The reason for this is the fact that when I developed sciatica during my recent pregnancy, the comfortable bed helped ease my back pain. The bed conforms to your body and it feels like you’re floating on air. It also helped that the bed that we have in our room has an adjustable base for various ergonomic positions and comes with a rejuvenating massage too.
Speaking of back pain, I am undergoing some chiropractic adjustments or treatment right now to help ease my back pain. The whole spinal adjusting treatment plan is going to take 16 sessions according to the doctor but I am hoping that I will be off the treatment sooner.
To help me ease my back pain for now, I always keep in mind what the physical therapist told me during my therapy sessions for my sciatica last year. She reminded me of the importance of proper body mechanics and good posture in preventing back pain. A few stretching and muscle strengthening exercise help too. And of course, there is yoga too.

Ooohhh pareho pala tayo with back issues! Pero ikaw, pregnancy related, ako likely obesity related! hahaha 🙂 But the pain is no joke no? I loved going to therapy though, but I don’t want to be doing it forever, and I specially do not want pain medication forever. I will seriously look at making getting a tempurpedic bed a reality for me as well. I need one!
