Since the start of summer, it has become so hot here in Vegas. The temperature even has reached 110 degrees F (although it’s still below the record high temperature of 117 degrees F) and going out at mid-day is a terrible mistake because you’ll feel the full effect of the sun’s scorching heat which gives you a similar feeling that you’ll get when you’re standing in front of the oven’s open door.
As I’ve mentioned in my recent posts, taking a dip in our community pool has been one of our regular routines at night ever since summer begun a few months ago. Here’s a pic of Georyl and her dad while they were taking a dip last night.
Speaking of last night, I’m not sure what the problem was but after we swam, we found out that the street lights were not on. It was good that some houses had lights on their pathways because somehow we didn’t walk in total darkness on the way home.
It’s one of those times that you learn to appreciate things because they are nowhere to be found – like the light bulbs. On the way home, hubby and I talked about bulbs and it was my first time to learn that there’s a way that you can go green with your home and even business lighting.
LED bulbs are the most effortless and effective ways for consumers to go green. The technology behind LED bulbs allows it to consume very little energy while producing very little heat or UV light and still emit the appropriate amount and color of light. Plus it can be used as a light source for any shaped light bulb – making it a better choice than incandescent, halogen lights and compact fluorescent bulbs.
Anyway, let’s get back to the topic. What’s your usual summer refuge? In summer, how hot can it get in your place (or country)?

Aside from swimming, going to the mall is one way of beating the summer heat … just don’t give in to your kids’ “buy me this, buy me that” nature.
Our temperature can get as high as 105 degrees F especially at noon.
