“One Hand, Two Hands” is a children’s book that was written by Max Lucado and illustrated by Gaby Hansen. It teaches our little ones the things that their hands can do and how they can use it to help others.
Since it was a children’s book, I sought my baby’s help in doing the review. She liked the illustrations which were really colorful and pleasing to the eyes. When I started reading the book out aloud however, there were problems with the rhyming – not only with the words but in the number of syllables as well. It would have worked in other books but not for children’s books.
The message of the book is great albeit incoherently presented. I can’t see the continuity of ideas which I expect of books, whether it be a children’s book or not but kudos to Max Lucado for showing how our little ones can be a blessing to other people just by using their hands.
Despite some problems I had noticed with the rhyming, I would still recommend this book because of the wonderful illustrations and the message it wishes to relay. Besides, if my one year old daughter already loves this book then children older than her can appreciate the book as well.
