Are you using EMV chip-enabled cards already? According to Federal Bureau of Investigation, EMV cards are more secure than traditional magnetic strip cards but it doesn’t stop lost and stolen cards from being used or for card-not-present transactions (like online or telephone purchases when the chip is not physically provided to the merchants. In addition, the data on the magnetic strip of an EMV card can still be stolen if the merchant has not upgraded to an EMV terminal and it becomes infected with data-capturing malware.
There’s this unverified news that some fraudsters can skim your card information even if you leave your card in your wallet. That’s one of the reasons RFID blocking sleeves have become popular nowadays. In My Honest Opinion
This money belt is thin and yet offers 3 compartments where you can put your money, cards and even passport when you are traveling. The elastic belt could snugly fit at least 26 1/2″ waistlines and could extend to upto 43 inches (or more – if you take into consideration the extent to which the elastic belt could extend). I haven’t tested the effectiveness of the RFID blocking sleeves yet but after my bank and credit card companies changed their cards to EMV chip-enabled ones (and I’ve heard some horror stories that they may not be as safe as others claim), I feel more secure knowing that my stuff are protected from skimmers when enclosed in this RFID blocking sleeves. Thin but functional for travelers.
