If you happen to visit here yesterday when my site was in a mess, sorry about that. I just upgraded from WordPress Theme Thesis 1.7 to the current Thesis 1.8 theme and I was so excited to try the new features – so excited that I botched the template in the process. LOL!
I was experimenting with the different column layouts and creating a widgetized footer in Thesis based on the various tutorials that are available online when the unexpected happened. Imagine my horror when my sidebar widgets didn’t show up in the actual site despite the correct column layout used. When I tried fixing them, those widgets got deleted instead and there were times when my site was inaccessible as well! When I thought that all is restored, the widgets started acting weird. Nuffnang ads began appearing on the chat box.
It was such a pain in the… head especially since I have to stay up until the wee hours of the morning just to fix it. By the time I finished, I was really feeling groggy due to lack of sleep and mental fatigue.
Anyway, speaking of Thesis 1.8 version, it already has the header image and favicon uploader but I didn’t use it because I already customized my blog using thesis hook at version 1.7. Having more font style choices is what I liked about the update. There’s also an option for Windows Live Writer but I don’t know what that is so I didn’t enable it.

Your site seems ok now i updated mine last week and for once it went ok, when i added a widgetized footer to mine i mucked it up a bit at first but got it right in the end
I found that i had to adjust the hook php code slightly to get it to work properly and i only found that out after reading all the comments on the site that i got the code from.
Gee says
can you share the footer code with me steve? actually, that’s what I was tweaking when I messed up with the theme. hope thesis comes up with a widgetized footer too in their future versions.

good thing that you have your blog back! i know how it feels because I have experienced the same way I think just a week ago. Just remember to backup your blog so if something goes wrong, you won’t have to worry so much. that is what i missed doing the last time. now, i’ve learned my lesson. hehehehe 😉

Yeah, good that you got it sorted out and your blog is working fine now. 🙂 I considered getting thesis but it’s a little too expensive for me, at single license.

Sometimes this kind of experiments can really be a pain in the head. Well, I don’t have any experience about thesis because I use a free theme (I would love to own Thesis)…but I had a similar kind of experience with my theme last week.
Good to know and see that everything is okay now.

Waaah! I am so jealous! I love thesis theme but the problem is I am not a wordpress user.
Experimenting is kinda exciting but can cause pain in the —head.
But I love the output! =)

I’m kinda nervous trying to change code w/ WPtheme, I’m more at ease w/ blogger, but as it is I’m already in WP. I can’t even upgrade it to WP 3.0, worried I might messed up the code. lol..but I always make back-ups in case I want to change the template.. it’s good you have fixed it already. 🙂

Hi Gee… it’s very neat and in order! It’s a good thing that you are so consistent in what you are doing.
Keep it up!:=)

I’ve never tried WordPress! I’ve always been a Blogger user. Your blog looks very cool though. 😛
Hey, I’ve a question, what webhosting site are you using? I’ve been thinking of getting a custom domain. 🙂
