A friend of mine asked me where she can find help in looking for homes for sale. She recently got a job near the Las Vegas strip and she wanted to relocate in the area instead of driving daily from northwest Las Vegas.
When we started looking for homes for sale a few years back, our first realtor was the one recommended by our lender. However, we did not click and we ended up searching for property listings online rather than rely on her. Every time we find a property that we liked, we will just contact the agents listed in the ad and they, turn, will show us the property or offer other properties if the listed one is no longer available.
We met and worked with many realtors and real estate agents before we finally came to know Ms. Rochelle Sutherland, a realtor here in Las Vegas. If I am not mistaken, we found her either at Trulia or Zillow. Among the three numbers listed as agents in that particular property listing, she was the only one who called us back (which is probably fate because we did not look for another realtor ever since).
We love Rochelle’s proactive approach and her patience in answering our questions. Since we just moved here in Las Vegas, we are glad that we found a realtor who is knowledgeable of the local market. She is very professional and hardworking as well. We also appreciate the fact that she always keeps us in the loop.
Anyway, to cut to the chase, finding a good realtor who will help you find your dream home is probably a hit or miss thing. Having a good one to help you is great but it is important to continue your efforts in searching online even though you already have a realtor. There are many websites where you can do the search and among my favorites are Redfin, Zillow, Trulia and Movoto. I also check out Bank of America’s home value estimator or tool to get the trend in prices.
