How time flies. My little baby is growing so fast. It’s still a few months before she has to do her two year old wellness-toddler check up but I’m already starting to prep her up now because she gets anxious every time she sees people wearing scrubs, lab coats or nursing uniforms.
There’s still enough time but Baby Gee needs to catch up on the following figures based on the CDC growth chart for 2-year old children (especially in the height category):
Weight:
Girls: 22.25 to 32 pounds
Boys: 23.5 to 34 pounds
Height:
Girls: 31.5 to 36 inches
Boys: 32.5 to 36.75 inches
Head Circumference:
Girls: 18 to 19.5 inches
Boys: 18.25 to 20 inches
I am very concerned with these growth figures for two-year old children because a colleague of my husband once said that according to studies, you can determine a child’s height when she or he becomes an adult by multiplying her or his height at two years old by 2.
Have you heard of this height prediction too? Do you think that an adult’s height is twice his height when he was still two years old? I haven’t checked if this is true but I really wanted Baby Gee to grow taller. She’s currently just 30 inches tall at 19 months. If the prediction is true, she’s “guaranteed” to be at least 60 inches or 5 feet tall when she becomes an adult. The next five months will prove to be very crucial to my dream of having my daughter to become taller than I am. (LOL, I really am wishing that I’m taller than my current height).
