This review of the book, “The Founder’s Key: The Divine Connection Between the Declaration and the Constitution and What We Risk by Losing It” is long overdue. I am not talking about weeks or months here but years!
Book Details
The Founder’s Key is written by Dr. Larry P. Arnn, the twelfth president of Hillsdale College in Hillsdale, Michigan. In the book, he talks about the important link between the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution – and how rediscovering and giving importance to this connection can help restore our political faith and revive our free institutions.
I probably should not be doing this review because the topic of history does not really rank well among my interests. Nevertheless, I love books and learning new things – two things that I thought were enough to do this book review a justice.
People who love history or those students studying the Constitution might find this book interesting. I, on the other hand, needed a lot of brainpower just to get through this book and was relieved to know that the second part is just a collection of foundational readings such as The Declaration of Independence, The Constitution of the United States of America, and other documents.
In Conclusion
This book is deep but insightful – more for the scholarly type or those who appreciate history books. If you just want a casual read, this book is not for you.

You remind me to read the books I got during my oath lol. I am not into reading history, it makes me sleep.
Sheryl says
This book gave me a migraine, though, sis Chubskulit. LOL!
April McGregor says
I am sorry to say but this is not the kind of book that I’d pick to read. Though I think my husband would enjoy this.
Sheryl says
I thought this book will be interesting but it turned out that this is not for the casual reader.
Olga says
I love to read but I’ve never been a fan of books on political issues. I think I’m on time warp and got stuck on books for children. I’m still in love with Roald Dahl, CS Lewis, and Beatrix Potter. 🙂
Sheryl says
I bet they are good authors. I, on the other hand, love self-help and business books. 🙂

My kids and I watch these DVDS about the America’s Liberty and there are so many things to learn about like the beginning of the Declaration of Independence, the Constitution, and so on and so forth. This review reminds me of these DVDs we watch everyday with the kids. There are so much to learn.
Sheryl says
Indeed, there’s so much to learn. But this book is a bit boring, I had to force myself to read a page. LOL!

Camille Aguila says
Oooh. History. Quite interesting but not really my kind of book reading material. hehe. Have you finished it?
Sheryl says
I tried, but this book had the ability to make all those words look like jumbled letters. No matter how many times I reread the lines, it just won’t sink in. I’m not discouraging others to read this, maybe it’s just me.
