Do you hate shaving or know someone who does? Well, I have a special someone who hates shaving his facial hair: my hubby.
Now, what do you give someone who hates shaving?
Recently, my hubby and I celebrated our wedding anniversary and I gave him one of those badger shaving brushes as a gift. I know he hates shaving but because they are required to keep their faces clean-shaven at work, he does not have a choice but to begrudgingly comply with that rule. I hope this gift will make him like shaving or at least be less antagonistic towards it. Although this little brush will probably make my hubby’s shaving routine a bit longer, I am hoping that it is worth that extra time.
My hubby applies shaving cream by hand but I had learned that that procedure causes the hair to raise evenly or to mat. And it is not good when that happens. This problem and the discomfort it brings can be solved by using a shaving brush. Unlike applying shaving cream by hand and sort of forming the lather on the face, one needs to form a moist and rich lather first on a shaving mug before applying the cream on his face. With gentle application of this lather on the face, there will be no tangling of the facial hair. Result? Less razor skipping and dragging on one’s skin. In addition, the brush also provides some gentle exfoliation on the skin.
Anyway, since we are already talking about shaving, I would like to share with you this study about women and their perception of men according to the length of facial hair (or the absence of it) in the latter. This research was done in the 1970’s and a similar study was also done recently. According to that study, women find men with light beards or stubble attractive and the full-bearded ones the least appealing. Clean-shaven ones are kinda so-so (better than full-bearded men though).
Well, I kinda agree with the findings of that study (since stubble creates some kind of a rugged look – and I like that). How about you, do you agree with it?

I have a bunch of videos on how to use ‘traditional’ shaving kit (like using a shaving brush) that your husband might like. It’s at http://www.youtube.com/user/mantic59 (not sponsored). He’ll be enjoying his shaves in no time!
