Mr. Mark Zuckerberg
CEO
Facebook
Dear Sir:
I love my friends at Facebook but could you please implement some changes in the permission settings so that I can have the option to manually approve each photo that they’re tagging me with before they get published as my picture?
Logging in to my FB account often cause me some shocking surprises. There are times when I even thought my account was hacked because who would be interested in uploading pictures that have everyone but me on it to my account but hackers?
As I painstakingly remove each and every unwelcome tag and photo of bulging stomachs, breast enhancers, nipple creams, vibrators, ugly fat guy, dresses, bags, shoes and other products that make my profile look like a disorganized mall, I can’t help thinking how to prevent more incidents like these to happen.
I can’t delete my friends just because of those pictures (although “friends” who’d associate me with ugly faces, tout nipples, cup-E cleavages and other things I can’t mention because they border on the obscene has really got me thinking). I don’t want to strain our relationship by lashing at them too (not really lash but I guess that’s what somebody will think once I say “stop sticking my beautiful face to your ugly butt”).
I’m hoping you’ll understand why I’ve no other recourse but to bug you. I know that only you have the authority, capability and resources to implement these changes that will save my friendship (and my face too!)
I’m really looking forward to the implementation of the user permission settings for the automatic/manual posting of photo tags. I am sure that a lot of Facebook lovers who silently curse this photo tagging feature will love to see this change too.
Thank you and more power.
Respectfully yours,
Gee Ty
Note to the reader: If you agree with me, please share this post (especially at Facebook). My wish is for Facebook management to at least see it but who knows, the people involved may realize that their “harmless” advertising just turns off buyers (and even friends). The safest way is just to post it on your wall or profile. If people like it, they’ll look. If they love it, they’ll repost. Right?

korek sis!..I get annoyed too with those photo tags..especially with thier new profile feature. If mag open man ako to check kong online ba yung isa kong friend at may dapat akong sabihin.
Gee says
mismo sis. hehehe…. kainis na kasi minsan….

yes! this is soo true! i also don’t like being tagged in those pictures that are not me! π
Gee says
yes. sometimes, FB advertisers overdo it. they think tagging is a good way to advertise….

hindi ako fb fanatic tlaga pero many times kpag nag log in ako meron ako nakikita na tagged raw ako pag tiningnan ko naman eh hndi ko pic or hndi ako interested prang they tagged me pra promote yon product nila ganyan ang na eencounter ko.
Gee says
yeah. they use it mostly to promote their products but instead of viewing the product, hindi ko na ginagawa kasi natuturn-off ako sa ganong practices.
Chin chin says
I guess maybe because I really choose the friends I approve. I also am careful with the pages “I like.” But, I think mas ok nga if FB users can have the option to approve the photo you’re tagged with.
Gee says
got a lot of those on my “Gee Ty” account and occasionally, I also get some on my VERY personal account. maybe because a lot of my friends are business minded? LOL!
chubskulit says
Al the photos on my account aren’t mine either. I never upload photos in FB and so surprise to see that I have a lot (halatang di masyado nagpifacebook lol).
Gee says

I hate being randomly tagged in photos. Don’t know how i could also send that letter to them though, they seem to hide away all their contact information?
Gee says
i haven’t checked if there’s a contact link on their site. we’re not alone on this peter. i know a lot of people who don’t like this random taggings.

shock ka lang ibang pic ung naka tagged sayo, kahit wala ka sa pic, minsan meron ding payment proof π just to encourage you to sign up lol.
Gee says
LOL!

Hi Gee,
I definitely support this one. I am sure the Facebook Admins will hear this issue and may do something about it. I liked the Remove-post-and-Untag Button, but your Tagged Pictures Approval idea is way better. π
A Walk Through Life says
Hi sis! This is a late comment but I agree with you. I hope Facebook Team can take the time to look at this concern of most people. π

I can relate. Every time I log in to my FB account, there are pictures being tagged on me like those advertisements. My account seemed like a public wall where anyone can post any news by just posting a picture with their friends tagged on it.
zoan says
I have read this in my email, kasi nga subscriber mo ako π tama ka, dapat na talaga na approve muna natin bago mag appear sa wall natin yung mga pictures nakakairita na minsan π
Fred says
I strongly agree with you, a facebook user should be able to approve a tagged photo before it gets of the news feed.
