I lost $27.50 today – just because I failed to read a site’s terms of service!
The fine prints are usually the things I overlook – and I realized that it’s where the important things are usually written. I signed up in a site, agreed with the terms and conditions without reading it and immediately did some tasks hoping that I’ll be paid. The bad thing is that I only read the first part of TOS (the one about a maximum of three sponsored posts in a day) but I didn’t reach the part where you cannot publish sponsored posts consecutively. It doesn’t matter if it’s a different day or week or probably month – just don’t publish two sponsored articles consecutively.
The result was a lost opportunity of $27.50. Both my articles were rejected. It would have been alright if I don’t do my sponsored post writing at midnight when my baby and her daddy are already asleep. I stay up late at night to write posts like that so I could concentrate (or at least not have a baby tugging at my pants, asking that she type at the keyboard too while writing an article).
Anyway, that’s another lesson learned. I already appealed (hope they would understand how some people just don’t take time to read rules and the fine prints) but if their decision is final, well, what can I do.
It’s just…. oh well. Again, that’s charged to experience. Toinks!
Did you happen to lose an opportunity or pay a fine for not reading the fine print or terms of services? Oh please, it would make me feel better if you share it with me.

Oh Georyl, the stinks, specially after you put all that work into it. I’ll cross my fingers for you.
Gee says
I’m keeping my fingers crossed too Anjanette. LOL!

It happened to me once a long time ago but I was also able to get away with one…Good luck to your appeal…
Gee says
I really hope they will consider. Thanks sassy.

ohh, now you learn 😛 LOL, anyway hope they will consider your appeal, lets hope for it 🙂 good luck
Gee says
The letter informing me that my post was rejected because of publishing consecutive sponsored posts said it’s final. But there’s no harm in trying. I hope they’ll consider – even just one of the posts. Not reject both.
Vera says
Aw, I wonder what site is this? I think I remember one I used to receive opps from that specifically said to always post regular topics in between sponsored ones. I forgot what it was though.
Gee says
I won’t tell sis. Unless they will consider my appeal, I won’t be “advertising” them on my site for now. LOL!
josie says
yes, sometimes we ignored the fine prints thinking it’s just the same as the others, I think I know that site, but not really active on them. btw, thanks for sharing your ideas on my post “Bored with her husband”. 🙂
Gee says
Hi josie. You’re welcome. It was an interesting read and I just can’t stop myself from giving my POV – with or without the August comment challenge.
