Do You Need Eyeglasses?

December 1, 2011 · 2 comments

This post brought to you by Zenni Optical. All opinions are 100% mine.

Recently, I visited the website of Zenni to look for some eyeglasses. Guess what I found out?

You’ll be surprised to know that at their website, the price range of their products are from $6 to $46. Imagine that?!

Well, a pair of eyeglasses that is a bit similar to what I bought few months back just costs $29.95 at their site. Take a look at this:

eyeglasses

My Coach Annabel 530 eyeglasses costs a couple of times more than this one and if I had found out about these cheap eyeglasses at Zenni, I surely would have saved a lot of moolah (which I can add to my budget for buying a dslr camera).

Zenni claims that they manufacture their own products using the latest modern materials and brings those product direct from their factories to the market. Without the middlemen and retail overhead, and practically without an advertising budget, they can sell their products at the current low prices.

The next time I’ll some eyeglasses, I’ll check out this site first. Aside from prices, you can view their eyeglasses according to prescription type, pupillary distance, gender, frame type, style, shape and color. As you can in the image above, you can even “try it on” to see how it looks like.

We Got the Fourplex!

November 30, 2011 · 8 comments

fourplex sold

Yes, it's ours now!

Remember the fourplex that I wrote about earlier this month? Well, got some good news, we already closed on the transaction before Thanksgiving day. We’re now proud owners of a fourplex unit here in Las Vegas (ooppps, we have a 30 year mortgage on it so don’t think we’re rich)!

Anyway, there were already four tenants in the property when we bought it. One of the tenants is moving out in a week – which is just alright because the term of our loan requires that we need to live in the property for at least a year.

We went there to do some inspection the other day. One of the tenants has a daughter who’s into cheerleading and I was surprised to see a cheerleading mat at their unit. Rachel, our tenant, mentioned that its the kind of mat that’s for home use and she got those cheerleading mats cheap. She also mentioned about buying cheerleading shoes cheap and although I’m not really interested in cheap cheerleading shoes, I just indulge in her stories while hubby does most of the checking. As a mom, I now understand how parents can be so proud of their children’s accomplishments at times.

Anyway, there are some minor repairs that hubby must attend to (like leaking faucets) and we’re also shopping for a coin operated washer and dryer for the property but so far, so good. I drafted new lease agreements for the renters to sign and I feel like a professional again while doing that (LOL).

We’re not sure yet when we’re transferring there but our loan agreement gives us 60 days to move in. It depends on when the other tenant vacates the place, I guess.

Black Friday Madness

November 28, 2011 · 3 comments

What did you buy last Black Friday?

I was planning to buy a Nikon D3100 camera but decided against it.

You see, prior to thanksgiving day, the price was $549. Last Wednesday, the price changed to $649. This weekend, it went down to $599.

Now tell me, would I really save some money if I buy during the crazy Black Friday sale and Cyber Monday “deals” that they were saying? Well, based on the figures I shared above, your guess is as good as mine.

Since I only wanted a DSLR cam (been wanting it since my birthday earlier this year), I didn’t buy anything for myself. We did some shopping for hubby and Georyl. We bought two pairs of tennis shoes, tennis balls, cologne and some baby clothes and sweatshirts.

Georyl also received a pair of boots from her aunt (which is one of my sister in law’s finds during the Black Friday sale) – so we’re including that among our freebies (LOL).

How about you? Did you buy anything during the Black Friday sale? How about during Cyber Monday?

Me, I probably will just wait until the camera that I wanted will go back to its old price. I guess those kind of items go on “sale” during Black Friday because sellers think that nobody’s checking the prices before and after.

Not me.

GEORYL has been using the Thesis theme for WordPress eversince it was launched in April 2010. There as a time when I used the Headway Theme for about two weeks but I went back to Thesis.

With the release of Headway 2.0, I started using Headway in my other sites such as the Techie She, WAHWM and SAHWM. I loved their point and click way of designing sites.

But it doesn’t end there!

Yesterday, Headway Themes released the Headway 3.0. This is so totally cool because the “blocks” made designing as easy as 1-2-3. It’s the ultimate drag and drop tool for designing websites – your creativity is the limit.

Let me share with you this video about Headway 3.0.

If you’re maintaining multiple blogs have the desire and passion to learn, I recommend that you do yourself a favor and get yourself Headway Themes. You can save a lot of money instead of paying for web blog designers. In addition to that, you can also start designing for others when you already become comfortable using this theme – and earn (like what I did)!
