Hubby Loves Traveling

My hubby loves traveling. Last year, we spent a few weeks on the road – driving from state to state.

The last time we went driving, we just used our van. Although it’s enough for us already, hubby plans to get some RV someday because he intends to travel frequently and make our state to state driving an annual tradition. I’ve heard that as long as you maintain and take care of your RV, it is cost-effective in the long run (but just in case, there are companies that provide rv repair at reasonable prices). Quality motels and hotels will cost you about $100 on the average so an RV is a cheaper alternative.

Anyway, I was browsing through our pictures earlier and saw this picture that I took of the Tomtom GPS that we are using.

9 Hours of Driving. How's that?

This was taken during our trip and we were in Montana when I took this picture. It was still snowing there in the later part of March ;ast year and since we can’t enjoy the place with all the snow, we decided to drive to Salt Lake, Utah (which was 500 miles away).

Hubby didn’t drive that long though (9 hours straight). If I remember it right, we stopped over at Idaho and stayed there for the night.

Judge Judy

Guest post written by Wm Rowe

One of those shows that I really like if I am at home in the middle of the day (which is normally never but let’s pretend that I get to stay at home all day and eat bon bons) is Judge Judy.

I really like this lady because she is a straight shooter. No beating around the bush for her. She tells you exactly like it is and exactly how she sees it at all times. If you are in her court you can usually expect a rude awakening for either yourself or the person that you bring in to her court.

Most people will try to argue with her and also try to use really big and formal sounding words. They just end up looking stupid because Judy really shows them what’s up.

My favorite part is when she lets the defendant go on for about three minutes and she sits there looking bored out of her mind and then, suddenly, she cuts them off and lets them have it. Check out your DIRECT TV guide for the next Judge Judy episode.

The Walgreens and Express Scripts Issue

This post brought to you by Walgreens. All opinions are 100% mine.

Recently, my husband received a letter from Express Scripts notifying us that Walgreens will not be anymore be part of Express Scripts’ pharmacy provider network as of January 1, 2012 and provided us with other choices or alternatives where we can have our prescriptions filled.

It didn’t occur to us that prior to this letter, much has been happening between Walgreens and Express Scripts.

Express Scripts is a health care system middleman between pharmacies providing the health care service and employers and health plans who pay for the medications. One of Express Scripts’ clients is Tricare, the health and prescription drug program for America’s military service men and women – where we also have our insurance.

According to the press release, “a quarter of a million U.S. military personnel, family members, retirees and others in the Department of Defense Tricare pharmacy benefits program, and their supporters, so far have signed petitions demanding access to Walgreens pharmacies under the Tricare pharmacy program.”

If you are also affected by Express Scripts and upset about not being able to use Walgreens, you may try to contact your local media and voice your dissatisfaction.

Walgreens claim that they want to help, an example of which is by offering a special discount on annual membership for the Prescription Savings Club at Walgreens. If you support Walgreens and would like to stay updated, you can follow Walgreens on Twitter or Walgreens on Facebook.

My New Toy From My Sweet Santa

What did you get from Santa Claus last Christmas?

When I published a post-Christmas post, I promised that I will be writing about a special gift that I received from my loving, sweet and generous hubby. Look no further, this is that post. Wink!

Friends, let me present to you my new toy:

A DSLR cam from my Sweet Santa

On the morning of the 24th, I saw this box on the floor just outside the bedroom door. Although it was unwrapped, the element of surprise was still there because I was not expecting to receive a gift from hubby – more so a digital single-lens reflex camera (digital SLR or DSLR)!

I wanted to buy a DSLR for such a looooooonnnnggg time but hubby doesn’t of approve of buying one. Don’t get me wrong, he said I can buy if I want to but he thinks it’s impractical – and I understand his point because we already have a Sony handycam that can take both high quality pictures and videos in full HD. Even when I already saved enough to buy one, I don’t wanna go ahead and purchase a DSLR without a go signal from him because it might cause a strain in our relationship.

That’s the reason why this gift is extra special for me. My hubby can be a bit stubborn at times especially if he’s right. For him to relent and finally give me what I want (even though it’s not really a need) is already a very special thing for me. I was so ecstatic that I literally jumped for joy and showered him with kisses.

Ooopps.. I shouldn’t have mentioned that last line, wink!
