This year, I plan to focus on beautifying our humble home, specially the interiors. I actually wanted to hire an interior designer but when I asked around, their fees are a bit high. I probably will just do some do-it-yourself interior decoration for now.
Thanks to the internet. Even though I do not have educational background on interior designing, I am learning a lot from all those information that I had read online. I realized that those small things that look so petty at first could sometimes make or break the overall appearance of your home.
Let’s take for example area rugs. I never thought that there are a lot of factors to be considered before buying one for your home. I was thinking that their main purpose was just to cover the floors but I had read that the right positioning of the rug could drastically change the whole look of your place. Do you know that experts even advise that you should buy the rug first before buying any furniture if you intend to buy a room-sized rug?
Now that I learned the value of area rugs, I am already excited to buy one for our living room. I wanted to have some premium carpets installed but I don’t know if there’s a carpet cleaning Brooklyn near our place so I’ll just go for wool rugs. I’ve read that wool rugs may shed when new but they are very resilient, static-resistant and tough.
Anyway, I will just do my research and find out what kind, size, style and color of area rug I must buy. However, as I have said, my eyes are set on woolen ones.
