The past few weeks had been quite hectic for us. We transferred to a single family home after living for about over a year in one of the units of the fourplex that we purchased in 2011. Before we can settle and transfer all our stuff to the new house, we went on a one week camping adventure in California with my hubby’s relatives.
Anyway, I am glad that we finally can have a place that we can call our home. In our previous home, we share a common space and the yard with our tenants. Now, aside from having privacy in our new home, the kids will have plenty of space to play in our relatively spacious backyard (compared to the old one).
The grass above is just artificial grass. We had learned that the previous owners thought of converting the outdoor landscape by installing paving stones that will withstand temperature fluctuations and ground settling. I love the fact that they didn’t push through with that plan since concrete and stones can get so hot especially in the summer when temperature rises to 115’s.
We live in Las Vegas – a desert – and this landscaping is just perfect for someone who wants to have a “green lawn” while doing her share in conserving water.
