Hey friends, how are you doing? We’re a bit busy lately because my parents are currently visiting us here in Las Vegas. Ever since they arrived, we’re on the road most of the time as we try to show my mom and dad all the wonderful views and sights here in Las Vegas and nearby places.
During one of our sight-seeing trips, one of the tenants in our fourplex property frantically called us to complain of a plumbing issue in their unit. Since my husband and I manage the property ourselves and do not have a property manager, we had no choice but to find a solution right away even though we were almost a hundred miles away from home or we’ll risk having to end up with an angry tenant. No landlord wants an angry tenant, right?
So what do you do when you have a plumbing problem? Contact your local Rotorooter or your favorite plumber, of course!
And that’s how we did it.
We called a local plumbing and drain services company and was glad that they were fast and professional. They immediately dispatched someone to check on the problem. We were told that they fixed the leaky faucet and unclogged the drain as well.
When we went home, we talked to our tenant to follow-up on the issue. They were satisfied with the work done on their unit and said that the issue didn’t recur so far.
This is one of the reasons why I love technology. Armed with just an ipad where we searched for info online, a cellphone to make the calls, and a plastic card (I am referring to credit card) to make payments, you can make transactions and manage your property even though you are miles away. It is also a good reason for companies to put up websites for their business. You just don’t know when someone will be looking online for the products or services that you offer.
