My husband and I “retired” from the workforce (and the rat race) for years now. If any of us would go back working, our children (Georyl and Geshery) might probably be in for a culture shock because they’re already used to seeing us and being with us 24/7.
Although I love being a stay at home wife and mother, there are times, however, when I think of what our family life would have been if I were to go back to work and practice my profession as an accountant. There’s a part of me that yearns for professional growth but I can’t imagine being away from my kids anymore – especially now when they are still so young.
Out of curiosity, I visit websites of various staffing agencies from time to time. I realized that a win-win solution is to find a work at home job in accounting. So far, I have no luck finding that ideal job. It’s either the pay was too low or it’s not a work at home job.
Again, I want to emphasize that I love being a stay at home wife and mother. It’s true that I do not get monetary compensation for doing this 24/7 “job” but the love, hugs and kisses that I receive from the people who matter most to me are enough to make me feel blessed and satisfied.
“There’s no place like home,” the cliche goes. I am proud to say that I belong to that special group of people who makes an ordinary house a special place. I am a homemaker!
