If you’re a blogger or webmaster, do you often get those emails from people who claim to help your site reach that coveted number one spot in Google and other search engines? It can be from a comment left on one of your post or an email sent through your site’s contact form. How do you deal with it?
At first, I was curious by all these communications that I’d been receiving. But not for long. Curiosity turned to annoyance and then later to indifference. I noticed that these letters are usually just being copied, pasted and sent out probably to everyone – and some claims are ridiculous that they are unbelievable anymore.
I had also read that there are lots of scams being perpetuated by this companies claiming to be SEO experts. They practice black hat strategies that can even damage your site’s reputation and lower your ranking in search engines. I guess, just like with any dealings that we have on the internet, we have to make sure that the people or companies that we’re dealing with are legit and credible.
What are your strategies when it comes to your online marketing efforts? Are you a do-it-yourself type of webmaster or you prefer to hire other people to deal with the technical stuff such as SEO, PPC management, mobile and Facebook advertising, email management, website development and similar stuff?
