It’s already August tomorrow and we’re just counting the days when we finally get to close our purchase of a fourplex house near the strip (downtown Las Vegas). It’s location is great and right now, the four units are already fully occupied by tenants so we’re guaranteed of some income after the sale.
We’ve been investing in real estate before but after reading the book of Robert Kiyosaki (the author of Rich Dad, Poor Dad) on investing in multi-family homes, we thought of getting fourplex houses a try. This latest venture is the biggest so far but with a down payment of just about 7.4% of the total cost, it seems alright. Here’s the house that we’re purchasing:
We’re also looking for homes for sale in Hawaii. Hubby was assigned there once and aside from the prospect of having a rental income from an investment there, it would be nice to have a vacation house in Hawaii too. Right?
But we’re focusing on this fourplex first so the Hawaii home will just have to wait.

Good luck with the 4 plex. I have 1 condo that I rent out, but am looking to expand my rental income properties. It’s a great investment, no matter what some people might say. And I know that the rental income will be a great way to supplement my social security (if it’s still around) once I retire.

We were also looking into this sort of investment in the Philippines during our last vacation but were not able to push through. Malaking investment kasi. Maybe next vacation ulit or when there’s a good opportunity.
