It happened to me a few days ago. Not with my hubby of course but with the WordPress premium theme Headway Themes. The theme offers what it says, an easy way to design your site with the drag and drop interface in the virtual editor. I could experiment with various elements in the blog’s design with just a click (and a few keyboard taps at times). For a non-coder like me, it was almost magic!
Just like in real world relationships, some things just won’t click even if they look perfect for each other. That’s Headway and me. Maybe it’s because I wanted something ASAP but is pressed for time to learn Headway tricks. Maybe I just missed my old WordPress theme which is the Thesis Theme for WordPress. Or maybe it was something else. After switching back to my old theme, all I can think of was that it was a costly learning experience since Headway Themes doesn’t have a money back guarantee advertised on their site (unlike Thesis Theme that has a 30-day money back guarantee).
But one thing I had learned from Matthew Andrews, the author of the best-selling book “Being Happy”, is that the lesson number one in how to get what you want is to ASK for it. With nothing to lose, I sent a polite letter to Headway Themes support to request for a refund. I didn’t have to wait long. I didn’t have to explain myself too. I received a short reply “no problem, will inform accounts” and received the refund via Paypal after a few hours.
Wow! It’s like turning down a suitor because you are in love with someone else and then finding out that he’s a good catch after all (but it still doesn’t change the fact that you’re happily in love with someone else). I can only wish them more success in the future because of their professionalism and good business practices with the hope that other bloggers (like you, wink) will enjoy what they have to offer – which I think is MUCH considering that they’ll soon to be releasing the upgraded Headway Themes 2.0 version.
Again, from the bottom of my heart, thank you very much Headway Themes.
