No, you’re not lost. I had just tinkered my blog’s design to somehow reflect my personality.
I’d wanted to redesign this site for some time now but procrastinated because of two reasons. First, I don’t have a photo editing or any sophisticated graphic software. I am just relying on Microsoft Photo Editor and Paint for editing my banners and logos. My second concern is that I’m just a wordpress newbie. I don’t know how this blogging platform works and I’ve been lazy these past few months to study it.
But if there’s a will, there’s a way, right?
At first, I thought of buying the Photoshop and a new wordpress theme. Good thing, Miss Frugality stepped in or else, my plastic card would again be put to use (and I’m trying to avoid it as plague)! With Mr. Google’s help, I was able to find a free banner creator and a lot of how to’s and tricks to customize my current theme.
I’ve been using The Thesis Theme for WordPress ever since I started georyl.com but it was only during the weekend that I’d realized how flexible, easy-to-use and powerful it is as a theme. It’s packed with a lot of features – the reason why some users even claim that it’s the only wordpress theme that you’ll ever need!
I had the time of my life testing different designs and layouts during the weekend. If you dropped by this site while I was in the midst of editing the design, you probably would have wondered what happened. I changed backgrounds, fonts and layouts like there’s no tomorrow.
I still have a lot of ideas for my design and I’m just trying to figure out how to put it in place. For now, I’m settled with this design.
What can you say? Hope you like it.
