Have you experienced parasailing?
About two weeks ago, my hubby and I went parasailing in Boracay together with our family. I’m not really an adventurous person so I believe Hubby was a bit surprised when I said that I wanted to go parasailing – with a condition of course that I ride with him.
On air, I felt like a kite flying above the sea waters while attached by a harness to a specially designed parachute (called a parasail). The parasail is, in turn, being towed by a speed boat on sea below.
The view from above is majestic although it took me a few minutes before I could really enjoy the scenery. I was scared of falling during the first few minutes but thanks to my loving Hubby who took my worries away with his sense of humor and sweetness, I finally relaxed and basked at the great scenery.
We decided to go parasailing at the spur of the moment when we saw the parasail while we’re island hopping in Boracay. I don’t know if the price we paid was the normal rate but since we’re already at sea and the people there were really adamant with their price, we paid Php1,500 for each person just for a fifteen minute ride.
Looking back, it’s more expensive than a plane ride from Manila to Boracay. If you want to try it, maybe you can negotiate for a better price while you’re still on land but I recommend that you try it.
Awww. That really looks exciting! Haven’t been to Boracay yet (Yes, never. *LoL*), but if I ever get a chance to go, I’d like to try parasailing, too! 🙂
Look, up in the sky! It’s a bird, it’s a plane – — No, it’s ur ride! As u hovered up ? meters off the ground, papa and I seemed frightened as I was holding ur little BBG.
@ mhel – it’s very very exciting!!! when airplanes again offer promos (like the P15 seat sale of Cebu Pacific), try to grab it. as long as it’s not peak season, you can negotiate everything in boracay for a lower fee (including accommodation, boat, etc.)
@ momsie – you should have tried it. on second thought, oks na rin un kasi who would have held BBG while we’re up there. hehehe.
I heard somebody got killed in a parasailing accident in Bora, is this true? Scary if it is…
Tanya
I didn’t hear about that Tanya. I think the parasail we availed of is always checked and well-maintained so I wasn’t scared about having an accident.
hi sis, dang, i almost missed this post! now, i’ve seen your face already through the pics. glad you had a great time during your vacation. i wish we could try parasailing one day but i think i’m afraid of heights..
it was an adventure i wouldn’t have tried if it was with somebody else. i know hubby won’t risk doing it if he feels that it’s not safe and i trust his judgment. i sure enjoyed it!
wiiihh mukhang exciting nga dyan..
🙂
Wow! I wanna try parasailing for our Boracay trip this August. I hope We can avail cheapest parasailing deal though 🙂
